Hello, my name is Mark Apgar and I am a nature photographer.

Many people today live very insulated lives. We go from our climate-controlled homes to our climate-controlled cars to our climate-controlled offices and back. In our rush to go places, we seldom notice the weather, the birds, the clouds, the bugs and even other people. We have tunnel vision.

They say that acknowledging the problem is the first step toward recovery.

Well, I am one of those people.

Now let’s do something about it.

Toward that end, I decided to photograph and identify every living thing in my yard. I do not think I will ever run out of things to photograph. I am sharing this project with you in the hopes that I can help others, perhaps even yourself, but most of all: to help myself remember to take notice of the world around me.
